The 2009 Women’s Empowerment Conference promotes gender equality as an issue central to U.S. foreign policy towards Africa. The program featured such notable women as: Baroness Valerie Amos of Great Britain; Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women’s Issues, Melanne Verveer; Global Ambassador for CARE, Sheila Johnson; Emmy-award winning news anchor, Tracey Neale, and many others. In only four weeks we created all event collateral, web and print ads, a registration site, a viral marketing strategy, signage, and development of “The African Village: Artisans & Advocates” marketplace which featured artisans with jewelry, artwork, and clothing for sale, as well as nonprofit organizations that are working to empower women.
